Profile of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh

An Ayurvedic doctor by profession, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh began his political  career in the youth wing of Jana Sangh. He was the president of the Jana Sangh’s youth wing in Kawardha during 1976-77. He was elected councilor of Kawardha municipality in 1983. He was MLA from Kawardha in 1990 and retained the seat in 1993. His international engagements include participation in the sixth meeting of Common Wealth Nations Parliamentary Union in 1994. He also led the country in the Indian Trade Fair in Israel, Nepal, Palestine and Dubai. He was the Member of Parliament in 1999 and served as Minister of State of Commerce.

He took oath as the second Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh on December 7, 2003
