Profile of Secretary (IT & BT)

Basically an Engineering Graduate, he belongs to 1995 batch of Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise).  He served as Deputy Commissioner in Central Excise ,Air Cargo Complex, Custom and Special Economic Zone, Noida. He was associated with “Customs Gateway Project” of the Revenue Department which would provide a comprehensive one stop web based solution to all the indirect taxation requirements of the Customs community partners which includes Central Excise, Importers/Exporters, Manufacturers, Banks, RBI, DGFT, Airlines, AAI, CONCOR, Freight Forwarders etc. The project is one of its kind in world.

 He is currently the Secretary (IT, BT & CM) and leading the implementation of IT & BT projects for the State of Chhattisgarh. He is directly involved in the implementation of mega IT projects like eProcurement, SWAN, Digital Government and Jan Suraj Projects apart from other IT projects like CHOiCE, GIS and e-Classroom projects. He also leads the implementation of BT projects for the State. He is the recipient of the eGovernance Champion Award 2007 by DATAQUEST Magazine.
